Venice Hotels City Tax at Hotel Agli Artisti

From August the 24th 2011, the government of Venice has decided to reintroduced the so called Venice city tax, which is something every guest has to pay in addition to their own bill in order to contribute to keep Venice alive, as it’s a city which needs daily refurbishments. This tax must be paid cash only, and it’s never included in price (either if you reserve via a travel agent, directly with us or through an online travel agency). It’s calculated this way (for all three star hotels):

- 3.00 euro per person per night in high season
- 1.50 euro per person per night in low season
- free of charge for children under 10 y.o., 50% of full price for guys under 16
- free of charge for all from the sixth day of your stay

High season has to be considered:

- up to October the 31st 2011
- from December the 3rd to December the 9th 2011
- from December the 23rd 2011 to January the 9th 2012
- Carnival (10-21 of February 2012)
- from April the 1st to October the 31st 2012
- during 8th of December 2012 week
- from December the 23rd to December the 31st 2012

We also ask you, if possible, to help us in this work, by paying it using coins; and remember we don’t like this tax as it means additional work to us.

The Foundation “Bevilacqua” makes a stop in St. Mark’s Square

Finally, also the East makes a stop in Venice; from June 2 to September 25, 2011, will be exhibited, at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation’s gallery in St. Mark’s Square, the exhibition “Xijing“, which aims to make know to all the people who desire, the history of this beautiful continent.

The exhibition will host some works created by three different talented artists of the Eastern world; Ohen Shaoxiong (China), Tsuyoshi Ozawa (Japan), Gimhongsok (Corea).

The artists are involved in this project from the year 2007, and have created this cycle through the Xijing, a univers of events, stories and places.

Full price; 5.00 euro

Reduced ticket; 3.00 euro

“A Textile Experience”; the history of the Textiles and Costume in Venice

Venice welcomes another interesting exhibition, intitled ” A Textile Experience – A Passion for colors “, which houses on the ground floor of the Museum of the Textiles and Costume in Palazzo Mocenigo, the wonderful works of the artist-architect Ruth Adler Schnee.

This famous German-American artist is the creator of tapestries, rugs and more generally, modern textiles, and she has dedicated her life to the creation of textiles of different shapes, colours and materials.

The exhibition is open every dau except on Monday, from 10.00 a.m to 17.00 p.m (last entry at 16.00 p.m)
